American Handcrafted® Philadelphia Unveils Education Schedule

White Plains, NY, January 29, 2019 — American Handcrafted® Philadelphia announced the education offerings during the show February 16-18, 2019, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Five sessions are offered providing insight for both exhibitors and buyers. All sessions are free and held on the show floor. 

“Our education schedule provides valuable information and tips on topics of critical importance that are vital to success for both our exhibitors and attendees, said Allison Garafalo, American Handcrafted Show Director. “We provide the platform for artists and buyers to connect, learn, and grow their business.” 

The schedule includes: 

Saturday, Feb. 16
Lindsay Anvik, See Endless, Inc. will present Merchandising for Handcrafted Items at 11:30 a.m. The right products and price point are crucial in retail, followed by customer conversion. This session discusses everything from signage to lighting to displays, what big retailers are doing differently, and how small changes to store layouts can mean increased profits. Anvik will share examples from both mom and pop and big box stores. 

Robin Kramer, Owner of Red Boot Consulting and co-founder of Flourish and Thrive Academy will present Networking is Net-Worthing for Your Business at 2:30 p.m. A great product and exceptional service are key to growth in business, but to continue that growth, more must be done. Kramer will discuss how networking can improve sales and cultivate and grow brand recognition. Investing in relationships and connections can open many new doors. 

Sunday Feb. 17
Robin Kramer will moderate a panel discussion, Products are Made but Brands are Created at 8:30 a.m. for exhibitors. Kramer and a panel of experts will discuss brand value and the importance of representing a brand in every aspect of business. It takes more than a logo to stand out in the crowd, create superfans and to share a lasting message. 

Lindsay Anvik will present Building a Website on a Handcrafted Budget at 11:30 a.m. A web presence is a must in today’s environment even if products aren’t sold online. The website is the modern day business card. This seminar addresses the challenges of building a website on a small or moderate budget. Platforms, monthly fees, hiring outside help, improving an existing website and more will be covered. 

Diane Sulg, CRAFT will present Ten Terrific Tips for Selling Success at 2:30 p.m. 

Sulg is also holding an intensive one-day seminar for prospective exhibitors on Friday, Feb. 15. The program will cover “All About Wholesale” and provide information and strategies to sell to stores, shops and galleries. Topics include pricing, inventory control, tradeshow basics and much more. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the seminar running from 9:30 a.m. — 5 p.m. There will be an hour break to tour the show in set-up mode and eat lunch.
